30 Days of Hustle Ketchup, Catch Up: Part 1

Man, I'm having a difficult time keeping up with this. I shouldn't, to be honest. But I think the thing I'm struggling with is reading the challenges, making the time to do them, and really thinking about them.
I need to stop having my eyes quickly glaze over as I open the emails.
On top of that, life just kind of shakes things up a bit.
There's going to be a big change. But a very good change.
It's kind of like getting a letter to Hogwarts: It's scary, life-changing, but you know you're in for a magical ride.

Day 12: Day 12 was about naming each hour of your day to try and schedule your time better. The majority of my time is taken up by work and school, but remaining hours are used for exercising, eating, napping, and working.
I need to schedule at least 2 hours of work into my day and so:
Monday, Wednesday: 2 - 4pm = work time.
Tuesday, Thursday: 11:30 - 1:30pm = work time.
Friday: 3 - 5pm = work time.
Saturday: 7am -1pm = work time.
Sunday: 2 - 4pm = work time.

Day 13: Day 13 was about getting out of your comfort zone. For my Design Theoury class I started illustrating the first Harry Potter book cover. My goal for the end of the year is to illustrate the entire book series. The way I've chosen to illustrate these covers is through digital painting instead of my usual screenprint poster design style.
I've kind of gotten a start on digital painting, but it's still difficult and different for me because I haven't had so much practice. I've also incorporated Harry himself (a person), a background environment, and NO animals which is...very different for me.

Another thing I'm going to do to get outside of my comfort zone is to begin sharing my work through social media. More on that later!

Day 14: Day 14 was about taking your WHY to another level and asking your goal difficult questions.
My why that I wrote originally was:
Why do I want to make an illustration by digital painting?
Answer: I want a future as a successful freelance illustrator.
I want to improve my illustrations and beef up my portfolio.
I want to be able to live the dream, and buy a house.

A question that's always in the back of my head is:
Is being a freelance illustrator the right path? Wouldn't it just be easier to make it a part-time job, or even a hobby, and work full-time somewhere more stable?
My answer to that is yes. I know some people think I'm crazy, but I truly believe that this is the right road I'm meant to walk. I don't want to take the easy or comfortable route, because I know I won't be truly happy in the end.
My goal with my work is to share sunshine and happiness with others. I want their heart guts to explode with sparkles and joy when they see my prints and work. I'm so sick and tired of seeing negative work out in the world. I want to help people reconnect with their imaginations, and to know that not everything out there is so bad and dark.
